What fenugreek actually does in our scalp oil
Fenugreek shows up on so many labels that it has started to read as decoration. In our scalp oil it is there for two specific reasons, and it earns its place in the formula.
Soaked and pressed, the seed releases a mucilage that gives real slip. That is why the oil spreads along a parting without dragging, and why hair detangles more easily afterwards. The second reason is comfort: it is one of the ingredients that makes the oil feel soothing rather than sharp on a scalp that has just been retwisted.
What it does not do is work on its own. It sits in a carrier blend with grapeseed and jojoba because the seed extract alone would be too thick to apply to the scalp without soaking the locs. Formulation is mostly this kind of decision: not which ingredient is impressive, but which combination behaves the way you need it to.
